Description:
To make this work I select and cut glass to my requirements. The piece is then kiln-fired to fuse all the glass together. The fused piece is then refired over a plaster mould to obtain the curved shape. Glasswork by Allen Loone. Carved base by Fay Loone.
How does your work engage with the theme ‘The World at Home’?
Australian surfers have always been keen travellers, but a Victorian winter in lockdown leaves many of us dreaming of the waves in warm tropical waters that break over shallow coral reefs. With this fused and slumped Glass Work Wave I have tried to capture the feeling of charging out of the barrel at the world’s most dangerous surf breaks, Teahupoo, Tahiti.
