Looking out of the window one dreary winter day, I felt that all the colours in the world had turned to grey. I couldn’t see or feel any colours around me so I decided to create an abstract street scene of colourful houses. The beautiful array of colours in this piece fills me with hope. The solid black frame encompassing it keeps me grounded.


How does your work engage with the theme ‘The World at Home’?

As with everyone else around the world, my world became significantly smaller due to COVID-19 and the lockdown laws. As much as this has not been pleasant, I believe that it is up to each individual to put back the colour in our world. Staying home gave me the time to consider not only how fortunate I really am, but to reconnect with the things closest to my heart
