It reminds us to protect the environment or risk losing it forever. Likewise, with the ancient art of Basket Making, we preserve the techniques of thousands of years and countless cultures, for future generations to practice and enjoy.
Most of our pieces are handcrafted from plant fibres, such as twigs, grasses, palm sheaths, weeds and reeds. Whilst other pieces are fashioned from discarded wrappers and wires, nets and fishing line, ropes and strings.
Whatever the medium used, the common theme is to produce an object of beauty connecting us to our ancient roots and to be aware of what surrounds us.
